Stage 1: Assess
Istonish assessment services provide a full range of technology infrastructure services which allow our clients to discover opportunities to reduce costs and the energy footprint. The assessment also identifies areas where customers can increase infrastructure resiliency and provide enhanced business continuity. Both electronic and manual data gathering techniques are used to discover inventory and monitor performance. Istonish professionals then analyze the information and identify potential areas of improvement with the shortest time to value and highest ROI. Example assessments include:
- General IT audit to establish a baseline of processes
- Organizational readiness assessment to understand current IT cost accounting, capital ownership, IT management practices
- Facility audit to establish baseline of footprint, power and cooling requirements
- System inventory audit to establish a baseline of operating systems, servers, storage and applications
- Workload profiling to understand performance requirements, priority, and criticality of IT applications
- Business continuity review to assess workload balancing, backup and disaster recovery plan
Stage 2: Design

Armed with the information from the assessment, we offer solution design workshops to create a plan or design for each customized implementation. The solution design workshop is normally conducted over 3-5 days. Infrastructure and virtualization experts use gathered datacenter/server/desktop metrics in combination with input from key customer team members to design the target virtualized environment. Design workshops may include:
- Solution architecture to establish overall Green IT architecture
- Workload prioritization to inform the initial solution design
- Solution design to create roadmap for implementation
- Project planning to plan tasks, establish critical dependencies and milestones
Stage 3: Deploy
Istonish deployment services include activities such as hardware acquisition, site preparation, server consolidation (through virtualization) and business continuity / disaster recovery configuration. We will implement the right solution based on each customer’s unique needs. Istonish engineers and consultants have an established record of success executing simple and complex projects. Our client's satisfaction is centered around our ability to complete tasks on-time and within costs estimates. As part of the project, our engineers will provide detailed documentation and on-site knowledge transfer. Deployment tasks include:
- Hardware ‘Greening’ - Deploying new physical assets which are Energy Star or EPA rated
- Software Installation and Configuration – Install and configure new software, including virtualization and energy monitoring software
- Workload Conversion – Perform physical server/desktop to virtual server/desktop conversions as part of system consolidation
- Business Continuity Policy Configuration – Configure and test business continuity functionality in target environment
- Disaster Recovery Configuration – Configure and test disaster recovery functionality in target environment
- Enhanced Integration – Integrate Green IT applications within existing management applications and services when required
- Asset Recovery (recycle) – Working with partner, CloudBlue, inventory and ship unused equipment to recycle center
Stage 4: Manage
VirtualCARE
Istonish offers post implementation support and managed services. In addition to post implementation training, Istonish can maintain distributed physical and virtualized computing environments by providing vital support for networks, servers, databases, applications and workstations. Istonish managed services include:
- Call-Center Support – Support critical of IVR, ACD, and call center applications
- Remote Help Desk
- On-Site Technicians – Support both physical and virtual infrastructure and applications
- Network Management – Support both physical and virtual network infrastructure
- Dedicated Technical Account Manager – Serve as central point of contact for managed services
- Power Management – Desktop computer power management that doesn’t interfere with user or IT needs
Stage 5: Recycle and Dispose

Istonish is an authorized agent for CloudBlue, a leader in electronics recycling, refurbishing and reselling. CloudBlue offers a suite of services to maximize the financial value of electronic assets while exceeding strict environmental standards. CloudBlue offers three principle services:
Complete Lifecycle Management (CLM) is a comprehensive program designed to maximize financial value and minimize environmental impact of electronic assets at every point in the asset lifecycle. Services include:
- Advisory services around environmentally friendly procurement practices
- Customized logistics programs for asset refresh, redeployment and disposal
Asset Recovery (AR) is a service that helps customers maximize value of current electronic assets and includes:
- Asset valuation to understand value of pool of electronic assets
- Certified data elimination programs for data storage that is in the disposal process
Remove and Recycle (R&R) is a service that simply provides logistics for older hardware that needs disposal services.
