Istonish Announces First Green IT Speaking Tour

Denver, CO – August 12, 2008 – Istonish Inc. is pleased to announce its first Green IT Speaking Tour starting September 10th in Cheyenne, WY at the State of Wyoming Information Technology Coordinating Committee (ITCC), October 1-3 at Copper Mountain, CO at the State of Colorado - Colorado Information Management Association (CIMA).

Dave Spear, Istonish Vice President of Sustainablity, will present "Green IT - Passing Fad or New Reality" in   Wyoming for the Information Technology department and the OCIO who have been working on several initiatives to reduce environmental impact and energy usage while delivering key systems and functionality to departments within the State. 

Spear will explain the current thinking around the Green IT lifecycle and how other companies are implementing Green IT projects and processes. Other topic include:

In October, Spear presents "Virtualization: You Are Not Done Yet" at the State of Colorado CIMA conference.

"Many IT managers think they have already virtualized," Spear said. "After taking a closer look however, we find the term “virtualization” means different things to different people."

The breakout session at the Colorado CIMA conference will examine Virtualization and explore how successful organizations take an enterprise approach to this key solution area.  Spear hopes the information will help IT managers understand the relationship between various virtualization solutions, and how an expanded view of virtualization will create value for the organization. Topics include:

1. Virtualization basics, including server, desktop and storage virtualization.
2. Learn how these technologies help save money, reduce operational risk, and are good for the environment.
3. Success stories
4. Steps for effective virtualization projects
5. Learn how virtualization can support software development and testing

Spear has over 24 years experience in operations, sales and marketing with both technology companies and consulting services firms and joined Istonish in early 2008 to help establish internal sustainability principles, “green” Istonish’s existing services and augment these services with Green IT and virtualization solutions.
