ISTONISH ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Istonish is committed to working towards creating greener business solutions and a greener planet. As a leading IT staffing and managed services company, we have the opportunity to lead by example. From the eco-friendly products and services we offer, to how we run our day-to-day operations, we strive to make decisions that reduce our energy consumption and waste that thereby reduce our impact on the environment.

Istonish created the Green Committee whose sole purpose is to identify ways we can reduce our energy consumption, help motivate our employees and measure our progress. Our Green Committee solicited eco-friendly and energy saving ideas from our employees. These ideas have helped shape our goals and action plan.

Our Goals

1. To reduce energy consumption and energy related costs.
2. To educate and encourage employees to understand, participate and adhere to these goals, both at work and in their personal lives.
3. To continuously measure and improve our progress.

Our Initial Action Plan

1. Replace all cathode ray tube monitors with ENERGY STAR flat screen monitors.
2. No longer purchase individual desk printers and replace existing desk printers with shared printer access.
3. Encourage all employees to refrain from printing, unless necessary. Encourage employees to print in black and white, double-sided whenever possible.
4. Continue to offer products and services designed to reduce energy consumption.
5. Offer a zero-landfill, zero-export electronics recycling service for our clients.
6. Recycle our own out-dated computer equipment using an eco-friendly, EPA compliant recycler, and extend this recycling service, at no charge, to Istonish employees to allow them to recycle out-dated computer equipment from their homes
7. Print business cards on recycled paper, using soy-based inks.
8. Create a list of local organizations and encourage employees to donate their used furniture, clothing, etc.
9. Run our kitchen dishwasher only when full, and use silverware and dishes instead of plastic utensils paper products.
10. Promote recycling around the office.
11. Provide employees who are involved with system development projects with virtual servers for development and testing functions.

 Our Green Committee will be active throughout the years to come, helping identify new ways to save energy and help encourage employee participation at the office and in our communities.

Istonish will also stay up-to-date on technology solutions designed to reduce energy costs for our clients and our own operations.
